Repurposed
One day I went to an estate sale with a friend and found this old tattered green tool carrier, full of tools. I love to go to estate and yard sales, as you never know what treasure you will find. Today’s treasure was a very beat up tool carrier. My hubby who has, the last few years, started realizing the potential of well used items, was still horrified. “Your going to paint that right? “ he asked me hopefully. Ummm that would be a no.... I want it vintage. Was my response. Almost always a good sport with my ideas, he took it to a local car wash when he was washing his truck, and sprayed it. A couple of times. I then waited for inspiration as to what to put in it. I decided to make it plain, but with a touch of chaos. So I added Ivy, and some wild roses from Michaels. I wanted the tool carrier to be the main attraction. Not the flowers. I was so happy with how it came out, I painted it on canvas! So that is the story of how this painting was inspired. A tool carrier past its tool carrying days, out to work as a centering on my dining table, and later inspiration for a painting.
This painting is a larger one, 36” x 24”, has sides painted black, so it will arrive ready to hang in your home!
