We had a snow day today! So we wore our pajamas and did a craft that I saw on Pinterest. Here are some instructions to how we created our art.
3 sheets of purple scrapbook paper from Michael's, from darker shade to lighter shade.
1 sheet of scrapbook paper with a pretty print, that matches butterfly color.
Hot glue gun and regular glue.
20" x 16" canvas
First we cut three butterflies, large to small, as a guide to our other butterflies.
Then we cut a bunch of butterfljes, and watched our favorite show. :)
While we were laying them out to see how many we needed, that's when our kitty Lulu, decided we needed some help
Next we cut strips of paper to outline the Eiffel Tower. I sketched it first with a pencil, lightly, then we glued the strips to the canvas. (With regular glue) Next, we hot glued the butterflies to the canvas. This is a lot of fun, and you most likely will not use all your butterflies. We did not. "A good artist knows when to stop." This is harder than it sounds, as it was so much fun placing them. But if you place to many, it will not look as good. If you are nervous, set them on the canvas first to see where to place them. Once you finish attaching them, set the canvas about 10' away, to see how it looks. If you need to add a few, go ahead. If not, your finis!
Below is finished art.
If you decide to do one, please email or post on my facebook page, a photo. I would love to see your creations!
